You look upon your leading officer as he makes his way down the line of your fellow soldiers. Your fate and the fate of your entire unit is dependent on this veteran’s word, and you find yourself relieved not to shoulder such a heavy burden.

”We must fight!” your officer shouts for all to hear. You adjust your Barbuta helmet, double checking the buckles as you listen to him continue. “For our homes and for our families, we will fight until we can fight no more!” With a resounding cheer, your fellow soldiers ready themselves for the charge. You withdraw your weapon, eager and afraid all at once.

The battle has begun.

DETAILS

Epic Armoury’s Barbuta is a style of helmet inspired by Italian soldiers of the 15th century. Designed to protect the head during combat, the Barbuta is elegant as well as functional. The helmet covers the head, neck, and most of the face--while still offering clear vision through the helmet’s Y-shaped visor, which has been reinforced with additional rolled steel and rivets. Enjoy this sleek and easy to wear design, demanding attention on the battlefield with such details as the curved crest running from forehead to neck.

The Barbuta has been made to wear with renaissance style clothes, but it also has a high-fantasy feel. It has been popularized in modern culture as a helmet favoured by high-elves.

Secure the Barbuta by tightening the leather strap beneath the chin, keeping the helmet in place. Made of 1 mm thick mild steel and top-grain leather straps and fittings, this armour piece is built to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with regular leather and metal armour care.

Available in sizes Medium and Large.
